Grand Opening Month begins Sunday!

bridgewaylogo

I can’t believe this Sunday begins our Grand Opening Month! Don’t miss out, its going to be incredible. Check out the new website. Spread the word and bring some friends to church. God’s going to do amazing things!

This Sunday: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21

On Sunday we will conclude our Compelled series. This week we come to 2 Corinthians 5:16-21. Personally, I’m really excited about preaching this passage for several reasons.

First, it contains some of the most profound statements in all of the Bible on what it means to be a real Christian and how real Christians should live. Second, this passage has had a tremendous part in shaping my own life calling. And lastly, I believe its principles have the ability to inspire and empower each of us into a life of ministry effectiveness.

Also, this Sunday will be our last Sunday as Ambridge Christian Center. On April 5 we will officially become Bridgeway Church! Make plans to be there for the public launch… you don’t want to miss out… and bring a friend :)

11 Days till Grand Opening

3104963872_983546eb8d4That’s right. Only 11 days until the official, grand opening of Bridgeway Church! Since we began meeting at Ambridge Area High School in December, we haven’t done any public promotions of any kind. Palm Sunday, April 5 will begin our official, public launch to the community.

Marketing in and of itself cannot change people’s lives. Only Christ can do that. However, it is wise to use any means possible to spread the message. Promotional marketing is just one way of getting on people’s radar. We don’t want anyone in the Ambridge area to be able to deny our existence.

I hope our church is never called “The best kept secret in the Beaver Valley.” Yikes! I like how Mark Batterson puts it when he says, “The greatest message deserves the greatest marketing.” While we will be sending out mailers to the community, the best way to spread the word is through personal invitation. Word of mouth always trumps impersonal marketing.

Here are a few ways you can help spread the word:

  1. Pray like crazy for souls to be saved and that many people will be brought into the kingdom of God!
  2. Invite as many friends as you can to church in April!
  3. Talk about it on your blog, website, myspace, facebook, and twitter.

I believe we are on the verge of the most exciting season in the history of our church and I’m so excited about all that God is going to do!

Guest Speaker Tomorrow

6a00e55017c870883300e55017cac98833-150wiThis week we are privileged to have Matt Brown with us to preach God’s word. Here’s a little bit about him and his wife Michelle from their website:

“Matt & Michelle Brown are evangelists based out of Minneapolis, MN. They are graduates of North Central University, and licensed ministers with the Assemblies of God. They are founders and directors of Think Eternity, an evangelistic and mission based organization. They are currently involved in traveling and speaking to multiple denominations, ages and cultures across the United States, as well as doing missionary preaching and church planting in the 10-40 Window (the most unreached areas of the world). In everything they do, they are focused on reaching non-Christians for Christ in America and around the world, and also on teaching Christians everywhere to do the same.”

Baptism Pics

One of my all time favorite things about being a pastor is the awesome privilege of baptizing people! Last night we had an awesome baptism and worship service. I never tire of hearing the testimonies of how God is working in people’s lives!

Worship & Baptism Night This Thursday

wb1This Thursday at 7:00pm we will be having our first Worship & Baptism Night at the Ministry Center (424 Duss Ave). In this service we will take some extra time to spend in God’s presence through worship, communion, and water baptisms. I love our Sunday worship services, but I also think its really healthy once in a while to break the familiar cycle.

There is a freshness that comes when we change up the routine. In this service we will be able to take a break in our week to worship God in a smaller, more intimate setting. Also, there’s just nothing like hearing testimonies of lives that are being transformed by God’s power and celebrating communion together as the family of God.

If you would like to be baptized in this service, send us an email and let us know. We will tell you everything you need to know. There will also be a short class on water baptism at 6:00pm before the service. This class is for everyone wanting to be baptized as well as anyone interested in learning more about the meaning and significance of water baptism.

New Series: Compelled

compelled-titleI’m excited to start a new series this Sunday. It will be a 3 week study of 2 Corinthians 5, one of the finest chapters in all the Bible on the subject of evangelism. The theme verse for the series is 2 Cor. 5:14 which simply says,

“For the love of Christ compels us…”

For many people, evangelism can be a very scary, confusing word. In this series we will look into what the Scripture has to say about why and how we can effectively lead others to Christ. The principles from this chapter will also empower us to reach out to others as we prepare for our public grand opening in April!
