Bible Meditations
This morning I was struck by a verse of Scripture. In Exodus 29:45-46 God says,
“I will dwell among the people of Israel and will be their God. And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt that I might dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.”
I find it amazing that God desires relationship with human beings. He states his purpose in delivering Israel from slavery in Egypt. He wanted to dwell among them. His desire was not only to dwell among them, but to reveal himself to them- “they shall know that I am the Lord their God.”
It’s amazing to think about how God saves human beings from the slavery of sin so that he might make himself known to them and enjoy dwelling among them. He knows that we all have a longing to belong and that longing can only be truly satisfied when we belong to him.
